Heartland

After a day of storm chasing I had to take a pause and just get this shot. It speaks volumes about the eastern plains of Colorado and how they run on for what seem forever. Out here you can see everything as far as your eye can see. Vast open huge spaces with huge skies. Here, the severe thunderstorms were far out in the distance as the light of the evening painted the rural and country landscape in deep rich colors. It's so utterly quiet out here, I didn't hear anything except the sounds of Meadowlarks. Didn't see another car for nearly 30 minutes. I imagine life out here can be pretty lonely but dang it sure is beautiful!
