Dawn In America

Before the morning rush of another work day begin in America, the sky greets the waking workers, who in just a matter of minutes will realize the beauty that is happening outside their homes while on the way to work. It is morning in America, and the coffee is brewing, the kids are sleeping, and what would be just another old weekday, is starting out to be one of mother nature's greatest paintings!

1 second exposure, 3 shots, blended HDR

I hope you all like it!
---John

Lovely photo. We just got our first real snowfall in the Chicago area last night, well, more like a nice dusting that stayed on the ground. But I can say winter has officially started. :)

Anyway... How do you get such amazing colors? I've been trying EVERYTHING to get rich colors from my camera, but it never seems to work! I Photoshop and it comes with so much noise in places I don't want noise, especially the black. Is it the camera or is it my technique?

Noise, can usually be attributed to high iso settings, so you may wish to check in to that. As far as color, set your camera to vivid if it has it, this will help some.

Where are u at in the 'burbs?

Huh, I never thought of that. Digital is so new to me sometimes that as much as I try to remember settings, I end up completely forgetting them because the camera just seems so foreign. But then there's the problem of trying to shoot from a moving car window where a high ISO is almost needed in order to capture what I'm seeing. Oh, the things that need to be considered in storm photography. I begin to wonder why I got into it in the first place, and then I take a look at my storm photos and video footage and realize it hits me: I LOVE weather!

West, Lombard/Addison/Glen Ellyn area.

Yeah, bout that... Can't really pull over when you're running away from a tornado, especially if you're not the drive and you're with a group of students and your professor.

Wait, you went to COD too?! Did you take any of Sirvatka's meteorology classes? Because if you did, the world just got a hell of a lot smaller. LOL.

I decided to switch my major when I moved to Colorado to Illustration and Photography was a requirement for my BFA. Storm chasing, idk really, always been fascinated with that stuff though
