Some Photography you MUST see!

Journal Entry: Wed Jul 2, 2008, 11:26 PM

:bulletred: Some Photography you MUST see! :bulletred:

:bulletred: Well in light of my last journal entry showcasing fubecando's Bear Shot and asking you all and wondering why, so much awesome work here is never seen, I decided to do a little digging around. I was truly shocked at what I saw in the galleries here on DA, once I got to where images had 10 or less fav's on them. Have you guys browsed lately!?!? There is some utterly brilliant work on this site by photographers just waiting to be seen and discovered. As I looked at these shots, I wonder who would be the next `gilad or the next `foureyes ? Combined with the browsing, I also snagged a few shots from people who watch me or have commented lately on my work.

So this journal will be a tad different than the ones I usually write...no news this time around, no features, because this time around I am presenting YOU, my watchers, with Photography I believe deserves to be seen, noticed, commented on and fav'd!!

I only browsed one day of the landscape category, and I wanted images that all had under 10 fav's...I think I may have made a slight exception once ot twice, but it wasn't far off from 10. I wanted images that spoke to you when you viewed them, that evoked a sense of time, emotion, and atmosphere. Where attention to detail in composition, light, and exposure, is seen and noticed in a photograph... I wanted THE DAMN BEST I could find that had no attention to them! People I don't know, people who aren't seen a lot on here, and people who sure as hell deserve to be!

So, when you all take a look at these, please take some time, a few minutes, and give them the look over. I suggest viewing them all in full size. A few tricked me, as the thumbnails didn't look like it would be anything spectacular, but upon further inspection of the fill sized image, WOW! Blown away!

Well, without wasting anymore time, I now present you with what I feel are some of the best images on a random day on DA, that are unseen, mostly all from the APN > Landscape category.Kick back, enjoy, dive in, and tell em what ya think folks! These have been neglected to damn long! To think some of these have but 1 or 2 fav's and 0 comments but mine.....
---John

"Hate to break it to you, but serious photographers don't get a lot of sleep. Show me an award-winning, breathtaking landscape--a pond shimmering in the woods, golden clouds surrounding a mountain peak--and I'll show you someone who got up at 4:40 am to be ready with a tripod as the sun rose." David Pogue, NYT

Guidelines For DD Suggestions

:bulletblue: For those of you wondering about DD suggestions:

I have a few guidelines that I would like to state about the suggestions of DD's, so just a FYI, :) there is ONLY one rule, and it below.

:bulletred: Firm Rule--Person being suggested can not have received a DD within a 3 months time allowance. This is dA policy.

:bulletred: Please make sure the image is NOT in the macro gallery as I am not the GM for Photography-Macro, if you see an image that is in the Macro gallery please suggest it to the Macro GM `dandelgrosso

:bulletred: I try to concentrate on images which the community as a whole has NOT seen, 30 fav's and under and it has a better chance of being awarded a DD. That is NOT to say that I won't feature a DD that has 600 fav's, because I most certainly will!

:bulletred: Quality. Sheer quality! I will only award what I feel is the best. The absolute BEST! In focus, great exposure, great light, composition, and an overall interesting photo, one that grabs the viewers attention and keeps it there!

:bulletred: Note me your suggestions. Please include a description why you feel it deserves a Daily Deviation and also it would greatly help me if you included the thumbcode so an image preview shows up in notes, this saves me plenty of time,I can't really respond to suggestions, however, so you know. Also, please make sure it is in the Photography>Animals, Plants, and Nature category.

:bulletred: Many of the DD's which I do not pick will undoubtedly wind up being featured in my journal and also in news articles, where the photographer will gain exposure with their works being presented and seen among the community here.

:bulletred: Please understand that I am often 100s of notes backlogged and if I haven't read your note yet it doesn't mean I am ignoring you. I get inundated with DD suggestions, please be patient.

:bulletred: You may also suggest DD's from the Photography-APN gallery to $ewm $chix0r and $Moonbeam13

:bulletred: Now have at it folks! Again if anyone has any questions, please feel free to note me, I am the friendly type and no, I certainly don't bite! No question is ever stupid, only the one which is never asked! I look forward to being apart of the team here, and thank you all for the warm welcomes!
