Winter's Arrival by kkart Winter's Arrival by kkart
Season represented: Winter

Garden Of The Gods park outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado, stands in a fresh dusting of snow as the low hanging snow clouds prepare to bring more snow to the area. It was utterly surreal standing in the middle of this prehistoric like landscape, so tranquil, and so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. I am just thankful to have witnessed it.

I hope you all like it
John

Stunning. Never before seen rock formations like that, and the red hue is amazing. Like the contrast between obscuring and softening fog, and the serrated, flinty peaks.

I remember going to this place when I used to live in CO. I always saw bald eagles flying through the sky whenever I went there, it truly is a magnificent place to see in all seasons.

Wow views like this just make me itch, to travel to hike to climb. The peace that is to be found with stone. It has already stood the test of time, it doesn't care where you're from or what your job/career is, or ask any awkward questions. I especially wish to see the garden of the Gods after all your photographs - because the rocks and slopes seem to warm beautifully in the light, be full of interesting vegitation, and offer so much - so many views which you have captured with such talent. Your photo's of this place particularly bring my heart to life. The only dissapointing thing is knowing should I visit I won't do such a good job...

Thank you so much for this. You've taken me back to my childhood. I lived Colorado Springs, Colorado for about 4years... even before I looked at its location I knew it was the Garden of The Gods park. The majestic sight of red foot hills, out line of the kissing camels, against the mighty Pikes Peak. You have brought me back to very beautiful memories of climbing those mammoth rocks and walking around the paths admiring the large yuka plants jutting from the ground.

Even though my heart will always belong to Canada, a piece of it lies among the Rocky Mountains and with "The Gods"
