Where God Comes to Relax...

A Story of Serenity
Guanella Pass in Colorado had to be one of the most gorgeous places in the entire world. It isn't a place which is huge, in fact it is quite small, but there are little areas along the side of the road like this one, which go unseen, it is only with a trained eye that is on the lookout that you will see these things. Granted, overall, it is a beautiful place and usually there is hardly anyone ever here. But is the places like this which make it all the more spectacular. Surrounded by Wildflowers and the greens of the forest, along with the rushing sound of the river and the small waterfalls, I setup my tripod to get this shot. Behind me is the road where my car is at, and on the other side of the road, more waterfalls.....yes, the river rushed underneath the dirt road I was on. Making me have a moment in sheer photography bliss or Nirvana. Needless to say I captured both sides and shot more shots of this river and it's waterfalls than any other I have seen before. I sat here looking through the viewfinder of my Minolta 5D just thinking......and I came to the conclusion, that this must be where the Lord above comes to relax and meditate....a place where he can escape from everyday things, the hustle and bustle that surrounds us. Much in the way we escape to the "High Country" (as we call it here) to also get away. As the song does say "If God don't live in Colorado.....I bet he spends most of his time there". Yeah, I believe that as well.

A great shot worthy of some of the world's masters or artists who charge thousands of dollars for a lesser-scenic photo. You captured water, texture, green, action, stillness, power, peace, depth, and nature's beauty all in this one image. The black border works so well here. The focus, centering, lighting and depth of field makes the viewer actually believe he or she is standing right there. Awesome work!

Nice composition although I'm not sure about the tree on the right, just seems a bit distracting but not enough to ruin this amazing piece ;)
