It has been awhile since I really did any work inside Photomatix as my camera now shoots HDR natively in body…but I figured what the heck.

Liked the way the composition worked out here with this shot...not exactly dead on Golden Ratio and not exactly dead on rule of thirds, but somewhere in between the 2. The weight on the hillside on the left, the gentle S curve from it's slop to the left and the space associated with it.

This was quite a scene…and I shot several of this scene, the only real difference in this shot is that it doesn’t have the rainbow going through it like the others. The light was to die for as it often is when shooting thunderstorms. Captured outside of Nederland, Colorado along the Peak To Peak Highway.

I hope you all like it

I thought I had already commented on this one.  Apparently not.

This has been one of my favorite shots for a while.  I instantly recognized this hillside from growing up in the area, so the nostalgia hits pretty good.  The lighting is great, and I've always liked composition that is just a little outside of the "guidelines".

Thanks for sharing this, John!

Amazing, beautiful, ominous, and so much dramatic!

your shadow's work is incredible, even if the colors aren't that "flashy" and "funny", the photo have an surreal look, like taken in another world !
Also, clouds are really nice and I love the contrast between yellow earth and grey/blue sky :)
