Sometimes the most unlikely locations can yield shots that can come out rather epic and/or unexpected. This was shot on the backside of St Malo (the church which you all have seen me upload) There is this little pond that I can best describe as being an old swimming hole, and I love this dock, with just how old it is, weathered and worn, and I REALLY wanted to get back here and see if the light would co-operate at dawn, and I think it did. Finding shots like this aren't exactly the easiest in Colorado, this is something I would expect to shoot more in the midwest or something, with regards to subject matter. So I was pretty much over the moon when shooting it.
It was hard to expose for, I will say that, and very tricky. Had to shoot in HDR and use my GND for it to get it.
Hope you all like it John

wow - well your perseverence seems to truly have paid off! very impressed with your use of HDR and GND. I enjoy this alot! Such a feel of peacefulness, escape, and hope.
It feels eirie somehow, like it dosn't look particularly threatening, but you sort of expect something horrible to have happened in this picture, nice shot.
