When I saw this, it reminded me immediately of an abstract painting, the kind where all you see is the dabs from the paintbrush...I was pretty transfixed. Captured along Kenosha Pass in Colorado, I studied the scene and used live view to zoom in with my 400mm lens to study the composition and pan around to see what would work best. Ultimately I decided on this shot which seemed like not only paintbrush dabs but also a flowing coat of many colors.
Autumn in Colorado, there is just other place like it! I hope you all like it John
