Loveland Pass, Colorado This view was something, as the light hit the peaks and forest, needless to say I took several with different compositions (portrait style for instance) which I will be uploading in the days to come. For those of you who wondering, no it actually isn't HDR, instead I used my Sony a550's DRO (dynamic range optimization) ability on 3 for this shot, I haven't really played with DRO much, but I have to say I am really liking the results! Pretty crazy road, huh? Not to bad for iso 1000 either, I guess. Did I say I am loving the lack of noise in my new camera? lol
I hope you all like it John

I envy you big time. I love the mountains so much, but am stuck in Iowa with my family. I spent quiet a few years on the west coast and developed a keen desire to return. The light as you say is super, I woke to that color many a times while camping. (Please, enjoy it a little more, I want to feel the joy.... hehe)
wow - i just can't help myself but to keep coming back to this shot but wasn't sure what to right. All i shall say is the light, the view and the composition all just make me melt - stunning
Stunning scene! Were you standing on top of the mountain? It almost looks like the view from a helicopter or something. I'm guessing you were just up on the mountain, though. Great work!
