:bulletred: Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep :bulletred:

:w00t: I FINALLY photographed one! :w00t: If you are from here you already know how it is to photograph Big Horns, if not let me fill you in: They are rare to see, only thing rarer is probably a Mountain Lion to see. Photographing them is usually by luck, they are VERY timid and usually run up the side of a mountain when they see you. Well this past weekend that would change. I went up to Mount Evans and as I rounded a curve, there he was in all his glory. Standing on the side of the road, on the edge, with a several 1000 foot drop behind him (yes, when you look at this pic, that edge really IS an edge...with a LONG way down) and I was thrilled. He stood there just looking at me. I was able to get closer in the car, and then he sat down....click, click, and more clicks of the shutter, I was ecstatic! So upon coming down the mountain an hour later, he was still in the exact same spot but facing the other way. Now this was seriously odd. Considering how squeamish they are, why on earth was he still there. It made me wonder.....I just hope he wasn't sick or something....Anyways...here he be! Quite a Ram who made a heck of a model!
Thoughts welcomed and print to come!

edit---PLEASE view this in FULL SIZE, otherwise, you won't see the details nor the focus. :) Thanks!

Well, you certainly lucked out. Remember that (tiny) shot of a sheep (goat?) that I took last summer? This looks like you may have had a chance to sit down and have a beer with him!

This brings back memories of childhood camping trips. We came across bears (while driving) and less timid deer. Congrats on your shot- the depth of focus is perfect. =)
