On The Pathway To Autumn
Every now and then you get lucky with the light, and this is one of those scenes where light was everything! If I didn't have the light I had, I wouldn't have gotten the atmosphere I was so much chasing after. Captured in the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park here in Colorado, I saw this and just HAD to get it. Scenes such as this are not to common and I really felt this whole scene screamed Autumn loudly. It's amazing to think I shot this a few days before Judy was here and I would revisit this place with her once she was here, and wind up freezing my keester off! If there is one thing I can warn ya about, steel tripods can get VERY cold lol Let me know what ya think! Print to come shortly ---John I can't answer all comments, but I try my best! -- John, your deviantART Gallery Moderator of Photography>Animals, Plants & Nature jdebordphoto.com my website I'm very impressed by the tones and contrasts in this picture. The yellow vividly stands out against the soft dark greens of the evergreen. There is a nice interplay of textures with the woods, the dirt and the leaves. I think this shot definatly stands out when compared to most of the fall photography that I've seen. It's a Colorado shot but it could have found itself back east...except all the foliage is yellow
The only think I would have you consider is cropping the image just slightly on the left. The green evergreens (sapling perhaps) doesn't quite fit with the border of the image. But that's just me. I'll have to find the Wild Basin and check it out next year. Great shot. -- Well thank you!

I don't know what WB looks like now, especially with the snow, I was thinking maybe heading over there again today and checking it out. I was in RMNP yesterday and there is a TON of color there at peak still -- John, your deviantART Gallery Moderator of Photography>Animals, Plants & Nature jdebordphoto.com my website |

The composition is wonderful. The subjects are far more important to me than the technical aspects, as my approach to photography is embodied with a full poetic weight and in an amateurish way.
This photograph has a great impact value through all of its elements: the wooden bridge, the trees, the tones and that pathway that looks so appealing.
I could live there.
