maybe it's something that a lotta people outside America don't understand....how we have this romance with the automobile. We view it as a gateaway to the wide open highway, elegance and freedom, able to take us anywhere we wish to go....leaving the stress and daily rat race behind us. It is even more prevailing in classic cars. The reflection on the past, when elegance, romance, style, and a simple life is what it equates. And speaking of romance, style and elegance, the Cadillac had all that. This is a 1949 model....and I wish it was mine. I wish I could just get in it and drive, westward California. Yeah romance the American way....I can imagine so many things when I look at this picture. Up for the Drive-Inn movies Judy & then a cruise along the PCH?
Steve Earle-Cadillac
Everybody’s out to get me
See it in their eyes
Hardly see the way they look at me
When I go cruisin’ by
Cadillac, cadillac
I’m a coupe de ville built for thrill
Cadillac
I got chrome everywhere I need it
Rolled and pleated front to back
If you don’t think I got it made
You ought to see me dressed in black
Cadillac, cadillac
I’m a coupe de ville built for thrill
Cadillac
Now, if you’ve got a woman
There’s one thing for sure
If you want to keep her
You best keep her from my door
Cadillac, cadillac
I’m a coupe de ville built for thrill
Cadillac
Your retro gallery is great ^_^ like an endless amount of beautiful rides that just blows your mind away. Europe sadly doesn't have the mighty straight roads and shops with old spirit-full Caddies lying about that you're talking about, think if we'd have then everyone would share the feeling about them. Some like me are lucky enough to see it anyways though XD luf big fat chrome bumbers..
Hehe.. You can see your reflection in at least 4 different places
I never know how to take photos of reflective surfaces... my own reflection always gets in the way At least it's not totally obvious in this particular image.
