You have to love rural exploring and decay and it is something which I often find myself drawn to as a photographer and this 1958 Chevy pickup made one heck of a worthy subject! Located on the back roads outside of Central City, Colorado it stood like a beacon against the evening sunlight in all it's glory at the height of Autumn. She was a beauty and really made for such a worthy subject.
The exposure here was quite difficult with the light and so I went ahead and shot this on my Sony a550's HDR mode at a strength setting which I generally don't use. I wanted the dark's though to come alive and it worked. I wouldn't have been able to really get the shot otherwise as the truck was pretty much backlit and the sides of it almost completely dark in a single frame.
Fun stuff! I know I will be back here again this year visiting my old friend here, camera in hand once again. ---John
OK. So it's covered in vines. It doesn't look like a total basket case. In fact, it looks very restorable. It just needs a little tlc and elbow grease.
Beautiful piece of work!
