The "Supermoon" as captured last night atop Lookout Mountain overlooking the city of Golden and metro Denver, Colorado. I was surrounded by several other photographers who apparently all had the same idea as I did for a place to shoot it from. I though decided that I wanted something different than just a closeup of the moon, and started thinking. I wanted something that would portray the whole scene, exactly as it looked pretty much, something that wasn't just a sheer study of the moon itself but rather what it was I was seeing and experiencing. So I decided to shoot this way, showing the whole city, the lights, how bright the moon was (was it ever!) and how the clouds just glowed. I had to really battle the wind coming off the mountains and foothills...it was a challenge ...and have to really weigh my tripod down ( actually took a shot of it from my Droid and you can see it here [link]
) In the end though it was fun and I hope I accomplished what I was after!
Hope you all like it
