Eternal
Tucked away behind the mountain gambling town of Central City lies the original cemetery, dating from the early 1800s, long forgotten, it is like something from out of the movie "Pale Rider", a real true look at the American West when it was just being born. The names on the headstones, long forgotten, of men, women and children, who died. Standing here you can almost hear the ghosts of the past echo as the wind comes down off the mountains. It is serene, tranquil, but also damn eerie. When I shot this I really wanted to try and convey the mood and the sense of atmosphere that this place communicated. 3 shot HDR and toned inside Pog's B&W Filters. Let me know what ya think, as your thoughts are welcomed and appreciated! Print to come --John
It sure looks eerie. I am not sure it is too blue...the blue adds to the eerieness, if that's a word, and is contrasted by the light areas in the sky. It definitely has a chill down the spine, "let's get out of here," cemetery feel to it! Great shot!
