The Golden Wildfire (Indian Gulch Wildfire) comes to life and burns down a hillside above Golden, Colorado. This was a long exposure of around 10 seconds. What may seem like noise within the image is actually hot ash that is in the air. For this shot I used my Tamron 200-400mm and zoomed in closely as I really wanted to get a sense of scale and show the destructive power that *daskibum ~Glitch-Chaos and I were all witnessing. I was shocked at it came in to view on the back of my cameras LCD ...it reminded of something that one sees on TV about the history of Pompei or a Hollywood volcano disaster movie. It was straight up crazy!

I hope you all like it
John

Imagine what the firefighters are seeing as they dig in front of that thing or spray it from their engines! Fantastic! Do you mind if I share this with a friend who is a wildland firefighter?

Unreal, and reminds me very much of what I saw too way many times as a child in So Cal when the Santa Ana winds came and brought destruction.
