Autumn Roads

Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, captured this past Autumn...I love how the road just leads on...meandering...hope you all like it! A little HDR in this one.

This is a very nice autumnal scene, not original in its content but very well executed.

The diffuse light lends itself to the subject well, producing rich colours and really making the most of the autumnal foliage. The warm colours of the leaves contrast well with the coolness of the road. The road itself provides a very easy way for the veiwer to follow through the image.

Technically the exposure and whitebalance look good and the processing is mostly good. I would say that for whatever reason there is a lack of deifnition in the yellow in particular and this make the leaves blend together somewhat. I suspect htis could be resolved with some very careful processing. The image could also benefit from sharpening, the image looks soft, but this is probably due to the resizing.

It would have been ideal if a higher veiwpoint would ahve allowed a more natural flow between the foreground road and the midground, but this may not have been possible.

All in all I think this is a very good image, but it could probably benefit from a little more attention to detail in processing.

Alex

Photography is not a great camera that helps you make good pictures. It is passion, patience and a lot of imagination. 'Cause no camera lens is better than the human eye...
