This is, well, the first 'real' birding shot I have ever posted here on DA, I won't count the Ducks and Geese, and I have to say, it is not often I toot my own horn, but DAMN am I HAPPY how this one came out!
Captured in Rocky Mountain National Park on New years Day, this Magpie was sitting there just hanging on in the windy weather and the snow which was whipping around, he looked so cold, but the way he posed made for a wonderful shot. He just watched me with interest, as I started snapping him with my Minolta 75-300D Lens. Shot in RAW on my 5D and converted to B&W using Pog's Mono Renditionizer, I hope ya all like it as much as I do! ---John
Oh yeah! I definitely like it! I like Magpies in general, but being a native of Colorado, I am used to seeing them. It is such a joy to be with someone when they see one for the first time. Renews my appreciation for just how beautiful they are. This is a magnificent shot!
