Ok ok, I haven't ignored my hotrod fans on here I assure you and now, let the uploading commence LOL Ove the next couple of days I will be submitting quite a few shots of cars, landscapes, sunsets, etc for yer viewing pleasure. I shot this yesterday at The Crown Lanes Bowling show here in Denver. The weather was less than ideal, and the lighting awful...I spose I kind of expected that with the flat gray skies and just flat dismal weather. So I kind of went with the notion the shots I would be taking would all be in B&W and/or Sepia.
It's a Model A, stripped down to almost nothing, a rails, a body and a motor...fast, loud and capable putting you in a time warp back to 1955. Primer and rusty, driven daily, it is what REAL hot rodding is about. I really didn't see anything newer on here than say probably 1956 on the car. The shifter in the seriously bare-bones stripped down, covered in a throw rug interior had a grenade for a shifter which was incredibly tall, coming up the height of the skull on the roof. I liked this rod...no.,.....lemme rephrase, LOVED it. I was quite excited to see this here along with it's cousin, a primered sedan which sat next to it...
A special thank you to Judy for helping me edit this shot. heheh thanks hon for making it look better!
sweet, beautiful bad ass little ride....ha, i've actually always found overcast skies and lack of sun to be the best weather for shooting outddoor [or for natural light indoor pix, back when i used to shoot chix/acts] photos with excellent contrast and tonality...and i think that this image reflects that man...i don't know why you've made at an attempt at those 'weather' excuses 'cause with sunny weather the contrast would likely be too harsh and much of that gorgeous flakin' 'tin' flat texture would be lost...it's a great shot imho dude...
Well thanks! Ya I usually actually prefer to shoot on sunny days, just because a lotta the times we can get some great skies out here, and the addition of clouds makes it more dramatic. I ALWAYS shoot in color (well as far as digital goes anyway) and then convert to B&W
I've always liked Rat Rods! Not worrying about pitted chrome, or the here and there surface rust..It all actually adds to the look... I'm Faving this.. I think it will look good in my Fav Gallery... lol..
Excellent Shot! I've got to try some black and white shots myself...
:0 yeah they are my pride and joy and there is a new magazine out called Wizzz [link] scrolld own on page that is all rat rods outta yer neck of the woods
