Epiphany--"A sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience."
For the longest time man has tried to harness the elements to better themselves, water, fire, sunlight, and wind. Wind has been harnessed for quite awhile, from powering Sailboats to powering mills that help to give mankind water.
Again, mankind as a species will try to harness the great winds on the plains of North America, not only for himself this time, but also for Mother Earth. It is a source of energy they say, and the way of the future, chasing a dream that relies not so much on, or dependent on fossil fuels. Some don't believe in this and say it is futile, while others believe it will change the very way which we live.
My take is this, without venture there is no gain, and at this point, what do we have to lose? The Earth dies a little more each and every day as long as we keep doing things the way we do them. In the 80s, it was CFC filled containers, and how they released gasses into the atmosphere, killing the ozone, today it is the chase to harness Mother Nature's ability and give back some of the green which we have stolen and taken away.
Ya know, maybe the Native American Indians were right all along. Just maybe.
Captured with =Glitch-Chaos while storm chasing on the eastern Colorado plains, out near Pawnee Butte's. One of the largest wind farms in all of North America.
Here is my first (nervous) critique for you, kkart!... I like the dramatic lighting - the dark sky and the burn/dodge (I assume) you did - and, of course, the subject, but have two thoughts on the composition. One is, I feel like the windmills, the way they align, are in the wrong position - like, if you had them starting on the left-hand side, with space to the right, it would make more sense visually. My other thought is, because they are windmills, that there should be more sky than ground. You may not have had a choice, if the sky became solid clouds, but that is my impression.
