Abandoned Summer

Como, Colorado

This old barn really caught my attention (as many things do in the town of Como) and draped in golden evening light, naturally I had to get it. I really wanted a shot that represented what this town is and how forgotten it is...a place frozen in time in many aspects.

I hope you all like it
---John

This is beautiful. The lime green of the grass with the stormy clouds and the specks of red from the barn roof make a wonderfully atmospheric photo.

I personally know I would have seen the photo differently, however, I really like this. I like the subtle bits of color! Nice shot! :)

I like everything about this image and it is definitely a step back in time. Hmm, I can almost smell the grass and warmth and I love this about your picture. It seems almost as if I could step right into this scene and walk to the leaning barn.:) Speaking of barn...if this 'barn' is within the town, would or could it be a livery barn?

Great shot!!!!

Thanks, it certainly isn't in use, falling over like that. It is in the town. This is kinda how the town looks (though it is much larger than this, this is just a small section of it) [link]

You've certainly attained your goal here. It's not only a forgotten feel, but those clouds and patchy grass speak something I could only call isolation to an extreme.

And I can't stop staring at that sky... :O

The barn is slanted because it is falling over, collapsing :)

a great capture again as usual. that little shed on the right part of the frame kind of throws me off though, maybe because it's tilted a bit. i still really like it though.
keep at it John!
